What is Botox/Dysport?
BOTOX, Dysport, and Xeomin are names for a medication that is synthesized in the lab and injected into the skin. It acts to temporarily relax muscles. The wrinkles between the eyebrows, the wrinkles on the forehead, and the wrinkles around the eyes are caused by contraction of the underlying muscles. When the muscle contracts, it wrinkles the overlying skin. BOTOX prevents the muscle from contracting; and, Voila…no wrinkles.

BOTOX has been used in the United States for more than 20 years and is an extremely safe medication. DYSPORT is almost the exact same medication except manufactured by a different company...similar to Coke & Pepsi. The primary function of BOTOX is to relax the muscles that cause wrinkles, such as crow’s feet around the eyes. BOTOX can also treat forehead lines and “angry” lines between the eyebrows. BOTOX and Dysport cannot achieve the results of surgery such as face lift in Houston, but it can take years off of the upper face.
